How I work
Most pieces begin with a conversation and end with a draft the client can sign off on with minimal editing. I read the underlying work, ask the questions a skeptical, unfamiliar or unconvinced reader would, and write to a standard the author’s peers will respect. Award and Chambers submissions get the same treatment: specific, accurate and built around a practitioner’s significance.

Objective
Most law-firm responses to requests for proposal are generic and forgettable — and therefore, ineffective. I took a different approach. For this San Francisco firm, a dark-horse contender for millions in business, I had complete editorial and design control. I oversaw the design, photography and strategy and, of course, did all the writing.
